I’m often reminded of an experience I had a while back when I was asked to photograph the C.E.O of Wal-Mart for Kellogg at the Wal-Mart home office. The photo was to be a life-size stand-up of Lee Scott posing with Tony the Tiger to promote Kellogg’s branding in select stores around the country. When I arrived, I was taken to a very nice studio with a green-screen, set up with video lighting. I began to set up my gear & my own lighting, when my Wal-Mart handler informed me I was not to be in that area, and that I would be photographing in a storage closet outside the studio. I couldn’t believe it. But here it is. This is where I photographed the CEO of the largest corporation in the world with one of the world’s most widely recognized corporate icons. I was given exactly five minutes for the shoot. No time for adjustments, makeup, variations, nothing. So here’s the result.
